You’re already running a business. You just never got the tools.
Millions of people sell, fix, teach and perform from their phones every day. What’s missing isn’t talent or hustle. It’s infrastructure. Here’s why we built SplashArk, and what it changes.

Walk through any market in Douala, scroll any WhatsApp status list in Houston, open any Instagram DM in Paris, and you’ll see the same thing: people running real businesses from their phones.
A tailor posts a new dress at sunrise and spends the day answering “is it still available?” A barber texts “what time works for you?” for the twelfth time and still gets two no-shows. A tutor keeps a notebook of which parents still owe for last month. A DJ sells tickets through comments and bank transfers, then hands a third of the night to an agent.
None of these people are doing it wrong. Selling on WhatsApp and booking by DM is resourceful. It works well enough to pay rent. But it has a ceiling, because none of these tools were built to run a business.
The problem isn’t attention. It’s infrastructure.
For a decade, the apps on our phones have competed for one thing: time spent scrolling. They’re very good at helping you get noticed. They’re not built for what comes next, when someone wants to pay you.
That gap is where the work happens and where money leaks out:
The back-and-forth. Every sale starts with the same questions: price, size, still available, where are you, how do I pay.
The no-shows. A booking with no deposit is only a hope.
The trust gap. A buyer who doesn’t know you is afraid to pay first. You’re afraid to deliver first. Deals die in that silence.
The middlemen. Agents, informal cash and scattered payment apps take a cut or lose track of the money.
Big businesses solved these problems years ago with storefronts, booking systems, invoices and payment protection. The people who power everyday commerce never got them.
What we built instead
SplashArk isn’t another app to scroll. It’s a storefront, a booking desk and a payment system in one, built around the way you already work.
Sell: a full marketplace for physical and digital products. You choose where you sell: your neighborhood, a few cities, your whole country or the world.
Book: 35 service categories, from AC technicians and tailors to tutors, lawyers and MCs, booked virtually or at the customer’s door, with deposits set before anyone messages you.
Go live: live sales, streaming, ticketed events and HLS broadcast for big audiences, with viewers buying while they watch.
Get paid: mobile money through PawaPay and cards through Stripe, custom invoices, and payments held until the buyer receives what they paid for.
One idea holds it together: see it, then buy or book it, without leaving the post. Everything else is optional and there when you want it.
Trust is a feature, not a promise
When a stranger pays a stranger, someone takes a risk. On social media, that risk sits entirely on one side. We built SplashArk so it doesn’t have to:
Payments go into a secure wallet and are released after a short hold window. Trusted sellers get shorter holds.
Sellers set a refund policy that buyers see before they pay.
Disputes are reviewed by real people before money moves.
Chat and calls happen inside the app, so nobody needs your phone number.
Content moderation keeps the feed, streams and marketplace a safe place to do business.
That protection helps buyers, and it helps sellers even more. When buyers feel safe, they pay faster, and they come back.
Open to everyone, growing one community at a time
SplashArk is open worldwide, and people in more than 30 countries, including the USA, already use it. Our marketing starts in Cameroon, where mobile money already powers everyday commerce and sellers were listing before payments even went live. From there we’ll grow across the countries PawaPay serves, then the USA and beyond.
We’re moving in focused steps so every new community gets real support, not just a download link.
